Some ladies won't care what you call them, and that is good for them. However if you call me a "whore", I'll assume you are disrespecting me. And please don't assume that I'm ashamed of being a sex worker, but "whore" to me is a derogatory term. I prefer to be referred as an escort, a companion. a happiness consultant, or courtesan,  or provider, service provider, erotic masseuse, or anything other than names that carry with them, negative connotations. If you want to have a discussion about my trade, and be respectful.. then you'll refer to those in it as anything other than "whores".
