I'm syill agasp after watch the documentary on PBS, "The poison squad". It touches on Harvey Washington Willey's work in forming the first comsumer protection act for food safety. Others mentioned are Fanny Farmer, and Upton Sinclair, who wrote an eye oprning book called "The Jungle"...It begins in the late 19th century and into the 20th...I found it disturbing, interesting, and eye opening....if you've the time watch it...who knew that borax and formaldehyde were once used as every day food preservatives. There is also a book written by Deborah Blum...with the same title "The poison squad"...I'm going to buy it:) Happy Wednesday!!
